Research: The Commission, Waste.
The Commission, Portrait, Fashion, Still life or Environment.
This project after reading the brief does sound more intriguing and a little exciting than the last if I'm honest.
I'm not sure as to what genre I wish to pursue as yet and so will try to explore all four genres that we have been given then once I have a better knowledge as to what I want to do, I can explore that particular genre further.
I did think about basing mine on the recycling of objects, in this case using old bicycles that have been re claimed from the tip and re used by stripping some of the parts of and adding a few other old parts to make a new style of bicycle namely a Fixed gear or 'fixie' as it's most commonly known.
I like the idea of using what most people think of as 'junk' for example a 20-30 year old bicycle and then transforming it into a modern day useful object, a Fixie.
The idea of using bicycles is because a particular type is now being more and more widely used around London as is many other towns as a way of commuting.
With that there is a certain type of fashion that goes with riding this type of bicycle.
This is one of the many various styles of fashion that a 'fixie' rider will wear, there is a certain style of clothing that is what you could call the 'stereotype' fixie rider I guess.
This is almost the style of clothing that a 'fixie rider' would wear, its of a vintage retro style.
